Scholarships for Nicaraguans

Hi there, looking for scholarships is hard, but as a Nicaraguan sometimes it can be quite challenging, mostly because it seems that they are only available for people from other countries and we sometimes do not qualify for this reason.

This article is mainly focused on scholarships for Nicaraguan people, however if you are not from Nicaragua, don't worry keep reading, I know this issue happens not only for Nicaraguans, there are some people in other countries that really desire to travel, study and live abroad but do not have enough money to do this.

I have searched the web and have listed some links to scholarships where Nicaraguans can apply, filling the procedures and paperwork is not as hard and challenging to do as you may think, but they do require some time to gather and start by validating your university documents with the CNU if your university is a private one, this is around C$100 or C$150 as far as I remember, and after that you can take your documents to the foreign affairs ministry, you'll need to pay around C$15 per document at Banpro first to have them validated. You may need the validated copy of your high school diploma this is done by MINED

Well that is the inexpensive part, depending on the country where you'll be studying you might need to translate the documents, the range is around $10-13 per page, I suggest to check with the university or the institution providing you with the scholarship, about which translation agency is accepted if they say your university can do it, that is ok, but if the translation has to be validated by the foreign affairs agency then I think UCA and UNAN are the only ones they validate.

I have also placed some links to websites where you can find different lists of scholarships if you are from different countries as well, however I also recommend you take a look at the list of scholarships for Nicaraguans because some of them are intended for developing or Latin american countries, so if yours falls under that description go ahead and check.

  1. Hi! I am a scolarship student from Esteli, Nicaragua. I am studying in Taiwan at the National Tsing Hua University, one of the top universities in Taiwan. It offers two international programs, IMBA and IMPISA. The application process begins on January and ends up in March 15th. I have been here for one semester now and I will tell you that Taiwan is a great place to study :) Buena suerte a todos.
